April 13, HBIS Chairman Liu Jian met POSCO Holdings Chairman Chang Inhwa in Berlin, Germany and agreed to strengthen their cooperation. POSCO European Chief Representative Lee Jaewan was also in the meeting.

Liu Jian said HBIS and POSCO had been always been working very well and the auto strip joint venture performing greatly. The JV takes great advantages of the deep understanding of intelligent manufacturing and AI of the partners. HBIS projects of all domain intelligent steel industry and POSCO AI applications share similar concepts and goals. HBIS wishes, with the existing regular communication projects, the partners could deepen their collaborations in all domain intelligent steel industry and low carbon & green steel and explore more opportunities.

Chang Inhwa said cooperation with HBIS was very important and the JV of automobile strip performance was very good. POSCO is strengthening its AI application and intelligent manufacturing reform, aiming to improve the quality and efficiency of the production. POSCO AI initiatives are very similar to HBIS efforts and in future, POSCO hopes to step up their communications with HBIS and explore more opportunities in AI applications, hydrogen steel making.

HBIS Chief Supervisor, HBIS Duferco and POSCO Holdings International executives were also in the meeting.
